You ever wished so bad that someone you love would just see things from your perspective? That’s what this song is about, singing about the dream of us together “if only we could be a maybe instead of no”. I don’t think there’s anything wrong with a little hopin’ and wishin’, but eventually one might have to realize, that this won’t work for me anymore and walk away. To leave behind a great love is sometimes the right thing to do, regardless of how much it hurts.
