Written by Mikaela Finne in May 2020, but finished on September 30th 2020.
This was the last song I finished for the record before we started recording in November that same year. This was a tough one for me to write, honestly.
Since meeting the person this song is about, I could never imagine myself not having said person in my life. Sometimes though, even with friendships you thought would last until the day you die, the only right thing is to leave. Staying in any kind of relationship just to try and save the other person is never a solution. You end up sacrificing too much of yourself, feeling horrible all the time and taking on pain that does not belong to you.
I will always love this person, and I hope that someday they’ll see that walking away was my only option.
